Martha McDowell brings a unique background and approach to the sport of eventing. She grew up eventing in upstate New York, leading to a seventeen-year hiatus during which she attained her BA and MA in Anthropology, married her main supporter Greg McDowell, had 4 children and moved to Montana.

Always knowing horses would once again become a central part of her life, Martha began training and competing again, taking multiple horses from basic race training to the Preliminary level. She and her beloved dream partner, Gaelic Marriage, steadfastly rose up the levels and competed at the 2011 Rolex Kentucky CCI4*, proving that with hard work, perseverance and partnership, an adult amateur from Montana can rise to compete at the highest level of the sport. Martha hopes to inspire others as they work towards their goals.
